THE BEGINNING…

PROLOGUE

Culture is an area which combines new creativity with the classical winds which have defined the habits of peoples. We understand then that it is a bridge between past, present and future, dynamic, because it changes according to the people and the times, but always faithful to the values of art, well-being, discovery and development. Added to this more recently globalization, generations, depending on their localities no longer grow up with a single culture, but are exposed and open to several others, which most often lead to more rapid and manifest changes in individual cultures. In this perspective, Over The Horizon (OTH), is interested in the artistic aspects of culture and embarking on it, has the firm intention of bringing it to a general popularization in the Cameroonian context of Japanese artistic culture. Which was at first something focus on, but something was really absent at first and we decided to move on to something big and probably difficult hear in Cameroon, Africa as a whole. but for you to understand we need to show you first what is really OVER THE HORIZON (O.T.H)

Chapter 1: Otaku Vision

In Africa we are definitely big fans of Japanese culture in terms of comics (MANGA) the group combine these cultures to create something unique. At the root of this project is the true passion, the one that drives to want to move the mountains for the simple pleasure of fulfilling the dreams of thousands
people in addition to his.
Artistic passions still perceived as uncertain and vulgar in
we lose that pejorative title and a further step must be taken to
this development is taking on a higher scale, hence the OTH project. Valuing living together by bringing cultures closer together, Allowing
lovers of Japanese culture to be able to take it.
Give young people a taste for reading, entertain themselves while cultivating moral, cultural and artistic values.
Changing the way people look at entertainment trades and works, and
possibly expose Cameroon’s know-how in these areas.

As everywhere else, culture in its dynamic and artistic aspect
is the only way forward in areas that are directly there
or indirectly related; New industry, new inventions, new
processes, new habits, …
impossible to do without, let alone emerge.

Chapter 2: Economy Opportunity

In Cameroon, the entertainment industry has been seen in full development in recent years. We saw it with the creation of the “Mboa BD”
that highlight Cameroonian comics, more recently with
the creation of the first animated feature film completely Cameroonian.

The opening of Canal Olympia and its meteoric rise in popularity
like the others, evidence that the arts are boldly sought after by
Cameroon.
We are ready to consume everything that will allow us to open up
to new horizons, it is enough that the right initiative is raised
to satisfy a present need.

The field of art has many facets and even considering
exclusively the entertainment arts, the wide range of activities is
barely diminished. Touching on a small portion, we can see
the arrival following this first wave, an evolution in cinematography, video games, poetry, and possibly even strongly influence
sectors that have already evolved in our country, such as music or literature.
This mixture of cultures will be more than beneficial to us because of a
culture that has already gone through stages that we still barely see,
the path to development is paved for us.

Chapter 3: NEW ADVENTURE

As everywhere else, culture in its dynamic and artistic aspect is the only way of evolution in areas that are directly or indirectly related to it; New industry, new inventions, new processes, new habits, … impossible to do without, let alone emerge.
Valuing living together by bringing cultures together, allowing lovers of Japanese culture to be able to take it. Give young people a taste for reading, entertain themselves while cultivating moral, cultural and artistic values. Change the way people look at the trades and works of entertainment, and eventually expose Cameroon’s know-how in these areas.

In Cameroon, the entertainment industry can be seen booming in recent years. But nevertheless, this is not enough to get the talk of the group or company in question. OTH had a duty to talk about artistic culture from another angle and the solution was to launch a sort of visual communication platform in the form of a documentary entitled “OTH OUR STORY”. The goal is to create a story to get young people talking in various fields; — Designer — Author — Influencer This documentary will provide a better understanding of the origins of their lives, their history, and their vision.

Our vision presentation

The documentary will take place in two parts; — The activity of the individual — The interview documentary will focus solely and exclusively on a single character in question who will tell and share with us and to Cameroonian audiences. The field of art has many facets and even considering exclusively the entertainment arts, the vast range of activity is hardly diminished. Touching on a small portion, we can clearly see the arrival following this first wave, an evolution in cinematography, video games, poetry, and possibly even strongly influencing sectors already developed with us such as music or literature. This mixture of cultures will be more than beneficial to us because, copying a culture that has already gone through stages that we still barely glimpse, the path of development is paved for us.

The documentary does not only focuses on actors who contributes on arts and culture but also on cultural events organize by different individuals or companies which enable the group to have more story to talk about.

Conclusion

I as the director and the leader of the project, from the start it wasn’t that easy since we didn’t have nothing to shoot at first when I mean nothing to shoot I mean ( No Camera). It was frustrating at first, then I listen to all filmmakers online and how I get my first inspiration to create this project. I saw many people using mobile phones to make their movies especially (iPhone) which was something my elder brother gave me to start the project. I went to see so many online courses to learn how to film with an iPhone to start our documentary film. Then I had a GoPro hero 7 as my first camera.

“A filmmaker’s most important tool is humanity. You want to able to capture humanity in your stories and bring out humanity in your characters.” — Ryan Coogler

O.T.H. objective it is push our living characters to tell exactly who they are, what they can do, and what they can say. Every month we will launch an episode of different individuals who contributes strongly on artistic and cultural aspect. You can follow our first episode on YouTube on the link below:
